SOLAR WIND Canada (SWC) periodically requires positions to be filled in the area of contracts, in particular with installations engagements. These positions are somewhat transient in nature, meaning they will be required as the contracts for installations are confirmed. There are three main geographic areas of interest for SWC, the Niagara Peninsula, Greater Toronto Area and Nova Scotia (primarily the North Shore). Licensed Electricians
This contract position requires licensed electricians possessing either an ICI Sector license (Work in this sector is Industrial, Commercial and Institutional. This is referred to as a Construction and Maintenance Electrician) or Low Rise Residential Sector (This sector is restricted to housing excluding high rise residential buildings.) for the purpose of the installation, testing and commissioning renewable energy technologies solutions (RETS) deployments offered by SWC.
Tasks will include the connection of battery arrays, BOS components (inverter(s), charge controllers, AC/DC-sub-panels, isolation switches, transfer switches, safety switches, etc.), integration with the grid, oversee wiring and interconnection of solar arrays and wind turbines.

Heavy Equipment Operators
This contract position requires heavy equipment operators who also possess one or more heavy equipment such as back-hoes, bulldozers, dump trucks, cement mixers. Certification is optional, but recommended.
Tasks include: As a back-hoe operator, using various attachments to scoop and dump materials, dig trenches, load heavy materials and break rock or concrete, and the possible use of a front-end loader to pickup loads of earth, rock, sand, gravel and transfer/back-fill/etc. for the purpose of constructing tower foundations for wind turbines, and PV modules mounts (foundations for pole-mounted modules), and trenches for power transfer cables from the turbine(s)/PVs to the power control centre (BOS). Depending upon the installation site, as a grade operator, leveling of the earth may be required.
